Mac OS has a built in utility called "Image Capture," that is stored in the Applications directory

and can be accessed via the Launchpad just like any other apps on your Mac.

You may also search for it by holding down the Command key while pressing the Spacebar and

typing "Image Capture" in the search field.

Open Image Capture.

Connect the iPad/iPhone to your Mac using your USB charging cable.

You should see your device appear in the upper left corner of the screen, and your pictures

will show in the right pane.

Choose the location on your computer you would like to import the pictures.

In the bottom left, there is a checkbox that will allow you to delete the pictures from your device

after they are imported to your computer.

If you would like all the pictures, simply press "Import All."

Otherwise, select which pictures  you would like to import to your computer, and then click "Import."
